Keith Downing has said that although Roy Hodgson will be a tough act to follow, he expects some big names to be in contention for the job.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Downing said his intention was to aide the new manager and he wouldn’t be putting himself forward for the job.

‘I will not put myself forward and my intention is to assist anyone who comes in. It’s for someone who has a bit more experience at this moment in time. I would imagine it would attract a bigger name now. We’ve become an established Premier League team now and we’ve come on leaps and bounds. I think it’s an attractive club for someone to take on.’
