Downing Defends Fulop

Keith Downing has shown sympathy for Marton Fulop’s Arsenal performance but he doesn’t believe it will affect him in the future.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the 3-2 loss, the assistant coach said of our keeper.

‘In Marton’s defence, he was thrown in pretty late on. He’s devastated, he’s a genuine guy. We had no reservations about playing him, he has been a great support to Ben. Ben has always said he’s pushed him and worked well with him. We’re just disappointed for Marton, and he’s devastated.’

Bad day at the office, I’d bet we won’t see a performance like that again from him when next called upon.
