Did West Brom Make A Move For Reported Target As Bilic Makes His Plans – Manager Confirms “Bids”

|

With West Bromwich Albion clearly needing to improve our goal return at the top of the pitch for the 2019/20 Championship campaign following the departures of Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez, one of the options on the summer transfer rumour mill had been Portsmouth’s Jamal Lowe.

West Brom Linked With 17 Goal League One Ace

The 24-year-old winger almost helped take Portsmouth back to the Championship last season as they narrowly lost out in the League One Play-Off Final, but across the campaign, he contributed 17 goals and nine assists.

It’s been stated that Portsmouth have put a £3million price tag on his head and they are still hoping to tie him down to a new deal themselves, so this was never going to be a quick deal.

With Leeds United, Middlesbrough, Wigan Athletic and Millwall all said to be tracking developments, manager Kenny Jackett has told Portsmouth News recently that two fresh bids have been rejected for the player and one is said to have come from Millwall or Wigan, so the speculation is maybe we were one of the others as head coach Slaven Bilic looks to his options.

I’m not so sure here with all the talk about the loan market, but given the money we have already brought in so far, surely Bilic does have at least £3million to spend?
