Devastating Striker Arrives At The Hawthorns – 20 Goals & Promotion Guaranteed

|

On Monday evening West Bromwich Albion confirmed the speculation earlier in the day that the deal for Dwight Gayle and Salomon Rondon’s loan swap had now been confirmed.

The 28-year-old attacker makes the switch to us on a season-long loan and his qualities are obvious – 23 goals in 32 appearances for Newcastle when they were at this level and won promotion in 2016/17 says everything.

Speaking to wba.co.uk head coach Darren Moore said of the player.

“This deal was in the best interests of both clubs. Dwight is a proven goalscorer in the Championship. He’s quick and sharp off the back of defenders and I believe he will add to our goal threat.”

The player himself added.

“The manager attracted me. He’s really enthusiastic about my game and I’m buzzing to come down and I can’t wait to get started.”

Many fans will be disappointed to see Rondon head in the opposite direction given the alternative plan of attack under him and the belief that he would tear up the league, but we’ll have to see what transpires next summer in terms of both his and Gayle’s future.

It’s not believed there is a buy clause in place such is the bizarre nature of this deal, but there has been talk of a 12-month option on Rondon that we are in sole control of and can still enact down the line, and that’s the only way this deal makes sense to me otherwise we’ve made a mockery of his worth and his release fee.
