The 21-year-old came into West Brom on a reported £15million deal from RB Leipzig where he made five starts and 21 substitute appearances – the spell wasn’t a great success but they snapped him up quickly as he began to impress for Nottingham Forest and I assume he struggled to adapt to life in a new country more than anything.
Signed by Tony Pulis, he has only made two starts for us though with 14 substitute showings but fans have already seen glimpses of what he’s capable of and plenty are hoping he really hits the ground running in a more familiar Championship setting under head coach Darren Moore this season.
Speaking to wba.co.uk Burke said that he’d returned to Albion in good spirits this pre-season having had a good Toulon Tournament for the Scottish Under 21 side as they went to the semi-finals of the competition.
“To get a couple of goals and put in some good performances, it’s definitely a confidence boost for me and I feel really good. I’m more determined than ever and really looking forward to the season. I’m going to give everything I’ve got for the club. I feel really happy here and I’m really enjoying myself. It’s almost like a family, and it feels like a family to me even though I’ve only been here a season.”
His words were music to the ears of fans as they took to social media to talk about their hopes for the young man this year.

Might as well be positive at this point. He's not the finished article, but I think he'll be good to watch next season. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the youngsters.
