Simon Cox has celebrated the end of the season in style and paid tribute to the two managers who made it possible for him.

Speaking to wba.co.uk the 24 year old striker paid tribute to Roy Hodgson and Giovanni Trapattoni for placing their faith in him, and for allowing him to repay that faith in style.

Cox grabbed his second international goal in four starts last night as the Republic of Ireland beat Italy 2-0.

‘I’ve been overjoyed with how things have gone, it’s been a dream come true to represent my country. At club level the head coach has come in and given me an excellent chance to go and prove myself.’
