Steve Clarke has described Jonas Olsson as a key player for the club, and he plans on sitting down and talking with him before the players return for training.

Speaking to the E&S Clarke explained that he has had only very brief talks with the centre half because he wanted to leave him to concentrate on his performances for Sweden, but now that he has returned home, he hopes to sit down with him and discuss the future before the players officially report back for pre season training.

‘I didn’t want to intrude too much, but hopefully between now and the report back date I’ll get a chance to meet him and have a chat. Jonas is a key player for the team and I’ll do what I can to keep him here.’

Albion maintain also, that despite press speculation, not a single club has been in touch over the 29 year old.
