Steve Clarke has words of praise for Billy Jones following the Fulham game, especially as Steven Reid is returning to fitness.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Clarke said.

‘On this occasion, you’ve got to give credit to Billy’s opponent. Maybe we didn’t get enough protection in front of him and we maybe allowed Fulham the ball too easily. I certainly wouldn’t point any fingers at Billy. I’ve got absolutely no worries about Billy.’

In injury news, Clarke added.

‘Steven’s been outside working with the medical staff towards being fit as soon as possible. He’s recovered to a point where it’s almost right, but you don’t want to take the next step too quickly. We are hopeful for the weekend.’

Goran Popov is still rated as ‘very doubtful’ for this weekend.
