West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that Nacer Chadli will miss this weekend’s clash with Leicester City having picked up a knee problem.

The club record signing travelled to Belgium this week for what the club called a ‘minor procedure’ to treat the injury, and he’s already back with us working on his rehabilitation.

Whilst there’s no strict timescale for his spell on the sidelines, the final international break of 2016 works in our favour and the club are hopeful he can be back to 100% before we are back in action.

Director of Performance Dr Mark Gillett explained to

‘Everything went well and Nacer is back with us and already working hard on his rehabilitation. He will be in contention for a return to action after the international break.’

Chadli was named in Belgium’s provisional squad for their November fixtures against Holland and Estonia having won back his place in the national set up following his form for us, but obviously he has now been withdrawn from that squad so he can fully recover.
