Cesar roams up the rankings

Slovenian defender makes massive leap

West Bromwich Albion`s Bostjan Cesar was the top scoring defender in this week`s Actim Index – the official player ratings system of the Coca-Cola Championship.

The Slovenia International moved up 49 places with his 36 points against Burnley – his highest score of the season so far – and is now 169th in the overall standings.

Kevin Phillips is still the Baggies` highest-ranked player averaging a league leading 22 points a game, and has 16 goals coming from 64 shots in total.

Analysis of all Championship games is taking place throughout the season and so far the top five West Brom players are:

Player, Ranking,Position Ranking,Index Score

Kevin Phillips, 4th, 2nd Ranked Striker, 434

Paul Robinson, 8th, 2nd Ranked Defender, 412

Zoltan Gera, 28th, 11th Ranked Striker, 352

Robert Koren, 29th, 9th Ranked Midfielder, 349

Carl Hoefkens, 49th, 13th Ranked Defender, 326

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.
