West Bromwich Albion winger Oliver Burke was a hero for Scotland on Saturday night as his late goal got Steve Clarke’s reign off to a winning start as gaffer, and his late effort saw both Baggies and Celtic fans react to his performance.
Having headed out to Parkhead Stadium for a spell with the Scottish giants back in the January transfer window, the 22-year-old had a mixed spell really when it came to his performances but he did chip in with four goals in 14 starts and five substitute showings and he also filled in as a central striker at points, which obviously has never been his natural position.
His 89th minute effort on Saturday evening gave the Scots a 2-1 win over Cyprus and whilst some of the reaction was sarcastic from both camps of fans, others clearly show that in some ways given the talent is clearly there, the frustration comes from not seeing it as often as fans hope.
