Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce is not happy about the decision to taken by the FA that leaves Baggies defender Paul Robinson in the clear.

The Football Association has looked at video evidence and agreed with Manager Tony Mobray that the challenge by Robinson that left Damien Johnson with a broken Jaw deserved no further punishment other than the red card.

But even though he doesn`t agree with the decision, he has decided to respect it, but still had something to say about the incident.

‘I’m appalled by that decision,’ Bruce told the Birmingham Mail.

‘Several managers I’ve spoken to all agree with me.

‘However, the disciplinary people, whoever they are down at the FA, thought differently so we have to respect their decision.

‘But it doesn’t take away the fact that my captain is now eating through a straw for the next three weeks for a start and, if you saw the state of him, you would be outraged as well.

‘I’m convinced – and nobody can tell me any different – the more I see it, the more I believe it’s worse than the Ben Thatcher incident.’

Midfielder Johnson is expected to be out of action for two months after his jaw was broken in two places.
