It’s being reported that although Steve Kean is determined to push through a deal for Simon Cox, Blackburn’s board have cooled on the transfer.

Some media outlets suggest a deal was close for £2.4m although the Birmingham Mail suggest the deal would involve three separate £500,000 payments, with an additional £500,000 performance related bonus – presumably also including a provision for promotion.

Cox is still being linked with moves to Charlton, Leeds and Celtic on the rumour mill, but it looks like this one could be drawn out for a bit yet.

However, not all the press agree, as some are saying we have turned down the offer from Blackburn, and it has nothing to do with any behind the scenes issues at the club.
