It was being reported earlier today that former West Ham gaffer Slaven Bilic had rejected an offer to talk to West Bromwich Albion.

The BBC reported that the 49 year old wanted to take a break from the game following his sacking back at the beginning of November and had turned down the opportunity to meet with the board.

With Gary Megson still in temporary charge, former Crystal Palace and Newcastle manager Alan Pardew remains the odds on favourite for the job at the moment.

One of Megson’s first decisions was in telling assistant head coach Ben Garner to stay away from the club, he explained.

‘It wasn’t a decision negatively with him, it was a positive decision about what I think needs to happen at the football club. I won’t do a character assassination of someone. But I know how I want the club to run and it was what I wanted to do. On the back of Tony leaving, I needed to lift the mood.’
