It’s being reported that Stoke City have now tabled a £20million offer for wantaway striker Saido Berahino, and Leicester City have rejected an offer for Jeffrey Schlupp.

Beginning with Berahino news, Stoke had a reported £16million offer turned down a few weeks back, and the media were reporting that Crystal Palace would be coming in with a £20million offer themselves today – but they have been pipped by Stoke who presumably have now met our valuation of the former England Under 21 international.

Stoke manager Mark Hughes is quoted as saying of Berahino today, that he couldn’t say much because he was contracted to West Brom, but moves were afoot.

Sky quote him as saying.

‘We’ve put some bids in and as it stands those haven’t been accepted yet. But we’re still hopeful on them.’

As the media have pointed out, Berahino ‘liked’ Sky’s initial report on this offer and that’s led them to question whether he would prefer a move to the Britannia Stadium this summer, and not Selhurst Park given Palace’s reported interest.

In other news, the Birmingham Mail are reporting that Albion have now put in a £9million offer for Jeffrey Schlupp, but Leicester continue to see the versatile left sided player as having a future with them, so over the weekend that was rejected out of hand with a hint of don’t bother improving the offer.

Whether we do or not remains to be seen.
