Appleton linked with Mariners job

Albion reserve team coach and former player Michael Appleton has been linked with the vacant managerial position at Grimsby.

The Daily Mail Website suggests that Appleton, who had his career cruelly cut short by Doctor malpractice, is in line to become the succesor to Alan Buckley at Grimsby Town.

Appleton has received very positive press since taking up his management role at the Hawthorns; if he does land this job I wish him all the best.

Warnock looking to extend Beattie loan

After Craig Beattie, currently on loan at Crystal Palace, scored the only goal of the game against Charlton Athletic last night, Palace boss Neil Warnock expressed a desire to extend the loan.

For all his effort, Beattie doesn`t look like he has the ability to cut it at this level and a move definitely looks on the cards.

Teixeira pushing for action

Felipe Teixeira, without a first team match since March when he picked up a cruciate injury, came through an hour for the reserves unscathed and looks set to challenge for a first team spot – if not this weekend then after the International break.

This is perfect timing for Baggies boss Tony Mowbray, who has seen his midfield decimated with injuries to Chris Brunt and Kim Do-Heon in the last fortnight.
