Appleton Pleased With Long Outcome
Michael Appleton has revealed that news that Shane Long would only be out for 6 weeks came as a huge relief, as the obvious worry was ligament damage.
Speaking to Sky Sports our assistant head coach said.
‘Shane’s obviously a little bit sore, but he’s in a decent frame of mind. Obviously when you have a knock on your knee like that your first fears are that it’s ligament damage. Ultimately the scans have shown that’s not the case, so we feel quite fortunate that if it is six weeks it’s not as bad as a six month, nine month job.’
Still a huge blow for us though given his start to the season.
