Following Steven Reid’s 55th minute substitution, the club will be sending him for a scan tomorrow to determine the extent of the ankle injury.

He is now a doubt for the Man United clash.

Speaking to wba.co.uk following the game, Hodgson said.

‘We don’t think it is really serious, but we won’t know until a scan is conducted. It will keep him out for a short period I’m sure, because when you turn your ankle over, you do some sort of ligament damage and that will have to be assessed. We’re hoping it’s not as bad as that.’

Hodgson also revealed that Thomas was withdrawn as a precaution with his niggly hamstring.
