Roy Hodgson says Albion’s priority this season after securing safety is to finish above Aston Villa in the league for the first time in 33 years.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said with Villa seven points adrift of us in the league, it would be the perfect time to break another record this season and finish as the Top Dog’s in the Midlands.

‘We’ve actually talked about it and it would be our next major goal. I’m aware that our ambition is to keep things going and do as well as we can over the next four games. Every game is worth a lot of money in terms of placing and prestige, you want to give a good performance wherever you go, but, if we have a goal, that would definitely be it – to break what is neither a record or a hoodoo, but a fact of life – that it’s been a long time to be below an important rival in the City. Now is our time to try and break that.’

I still think it’s a nailed on certainty given the season Villa have had, especially as we play them in the run in, be a nice opportunity to take all 6 points from them aswell.
