Steve Clarke has confirmed that Simon Cox was left out of today’s game against Barnsley because the club have received a firm offer for the player.

Speaking to wba.co.uk following the scoreless draw, Clarke confirmed an offer had been made, but refused to name the club.

‘A bid has been put in for Simon and you know what it’s like when something like this happens, the player can become distracted so I made the decision not to bring him. Things might resolve themselves over the weekend, if they don’t, Simon will be back working with us. In fact, he’s due in tomorrow for training.’

There have been a few clubs circling, so maybe Blackburn have made the first move?
