West Bromwich Albion have seen a bid for former Burnley defender Gary Cahill rejected by his club Aston Villa.

Martin O’Neil is eager to land Albion defender Curtis Davies and was prepared to offer Cahill + cash to land the former Luton Town defender. However the move was halted when Chaill decided to stay at Villa Park and fight for his place.

Albion also want straight cash for Davies; and any club interested will have to meet the demands of £8,000,000 for the defender.

Davies is currently out of the Baggies side until doubts surrounding his future are sorted out; but Tottenham Hotspur are believed to still be interested and another bidding war could soon break out.
