Academy Graduate Takes West Brom MotM With 2 Shots, 2 Key Passes & 78.3% Pass Accuracy

West Bromwich Albion caretaker head coach Jimmy Shan saw his side make it two wins from two at the weekend as we took all three points from a difficult Brentford side.

A magnificent run and show of close control from Academy graduate Kyle Edwards on his first Championship start for the side returned all three points and the win in the 51st minute of the second half and with goalkeeper Sam Johnstone performing well between the sticks, we kept the clean sheet to boot.

Statistics website Whoscored obviously gave their star man award to Edwards given his overall contribution on the day as he polled 8.30.

Completing the top five best performers in their eyes were Johnstone (8.17), Chris Brunt (7.43), James Morrison (7.33) and Ahmed Hegazi (7.26).

Mason Holgate and Conor Townsend also received seven-plus scores on the day for their efforts and it should do confidence for all the world of good given our current predicament.
