Roy Hodgson believes a point will be enough against Newcastle to ensure the Baggies finish as the Midlands’ top dogs this season.

Speaking to wba.co.uk ahead of the game, the gaffer stated that a point should be enough to ensure we finish top of the local pile because although he thinks we’d finish level with Villa if we lost, it’s likely we’d lose top spot based on goal difference and he thinks that would be a hell of a way to lose the bragging rights.

‘It would be nice if we can get the result to keep us up there in case Villa draw or beat Liverpool, it’s a goal for us and something we would be proud of. We want to go there and get a result.’
