A Hugely Disappointing Night Gives Few Positives For West Brom But MotM Is Between These Two Surely

|

Football on a Wednesday evening still feels wrong. Last night’s Championship clash between West Bromwich Albion and Derby County certainly did as we got hammered 4-1 on the night.

Derby took a 4-0 lead before Jay Rodriguez managed to grab himself a consolation effort on the night as he made up for the early backpass error that got them on their way. With Jake Livermore suspended and Dwight Gayle suffering injury and substituted at the half-way mark – not much else could’ve gone wrong, despite the stats saying we at least had a valiant stab at things.

Stats website WhoScored had Rodriguez down as out Man of the Match for the 90 minutes.

On-loan Leicester player Harvey Barnes ran him a close second (7.05) as our only other real threat on the evening and the top five were completed by Chris Brunt, James Morrison and Sam Field.

Special mention for youngster Field as a number of fans had been wanting him to get a chance in midfield of late and he certainly didn’t embarrass himself.
