3 Tackles & 3 Shots – West Brom Man Takes MotM For Efforts At Both Ends Of The Pitch

|

It was a disappointing day for West Bromwich Albion on Saturday as we welcomed fellow promotion hopefuls Sheffield United to The Hawthorns for our latest Championship clash.

The result on the day between both sides wouldn’t decide the chances of finishing in the automatic promotion spots but it would give the winner an advantage, and a solitary goal 14 minutes in gave the visitors those three points.

Statistics website Whoscored didn’t really give head coach Darren Moore’s side a glowing review in their player ratings as we only had two score seven or above.

Craig Dawson took their Man of the Match rating with 7.22 for his efforts, and he was closely followed by on loan Everton man Mason Holgate who again looks like a gem for the future as he picked up 7.19. Kieran Gibbs, goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and Ahmed Hegazi rated respectively, 6.91, 6.80, and 6.77.

With the games that remain a four gap is not insurmountable, but we have made life hard for ourselves now and given we dominated the game without testing their goalkeeper enough, we only have ourselves to blame.
