It has been a busy month for West Brom in terms of their involvement in the English football rumour mill with transfer speculation dominating the back pages and website forums up and down the land.

The Baggies are keen on adding to their attacking ranks this January, and The Birmingham Mail have reported that an interesting name is being considered by the club this month as a potential signing that has already got fans excited, that man being Huddersfield Town striker Karlan Grant.

The 22-year-old forward has been in great form this season with the Terriers, with stats from WhoScored showing that the former Charlton Athletic striker has hit 12 goals and four assists in 27 Championship appearances this campaign, and for West Brom, Grant is exactly the type of player they should be targeting this month.

Indeed, Grant is a player that has all the qualities to become a top-class striker in English football, with Huddersfield teammate saying to The Totally Football Show about the Championship star: “I said when I joined the club he’s the closest thing I’ve seen to Callum Wilson,” with the centre-back later adding, “He’s got the world at his feet but he needs to stay grounded and just keep doing what he’s doing. He really has got everything.”

With the Baggies being linked with plenty forwards this month, signing a player like Grant, who is young and already proving to be capable of scoring in the Championship, is exactly the type of attacker West Brom should be looking to sign.

At 22, Grant still has a lot to learn in the game, but with the Baggies aiming for Premier League promotion this season, signing a young attacker will be ideal for West Brom as it allows the club to nurture talent going into the English top-flight and prepare him for playing against some of the best clubs in Europe.
