Whatever West Bromwich Albion fans think of the recent decent to sack Darren Moore, Jimmy Shan got off to the perfect start as caretaker gaffer in last night’s clash with Swansea City.

Welcoming the Swans to The Hawthorns for the game, it appears some players may have had a point to prove and the often maligned Chris Brunt backed up his earlier interview with a standout performance in the game.

Statistics website Whoscored gave Brunt their star man award for his performance with a rating of 9.23.

Completing the top five best performers from the victory on the night in their system were goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, fellow goalscorers Mason Holgate (7.91) and Jay Rodriguez (7.74) and then Conor Townsend (7.39).

Extra mentions for Jake Livermore, Ahmed Hegazi, Dwight Gayle and Rekeem Harper who also scored seven or above.

A much needed win but it won’t stop those with questions from asking them and it’ll be interesting to see what the club do this week.
