Monday evening’s Championship action saw West Bromwich Albion make the trip to the University of Bolton Stadium to face off against Bolton Wanderers.

The evening was dominated by off-pitch affairs at the club given all their problems and amidst the fan protests, both inside and outside of the Stadium, West Brom needed a professional and mature performance to not let those issues knock us off our stride.

Goals in each half of the game from Jay Rodriguez and Sam Field gave us just that as we took all three points and kept our charge towards the top of the second tier table going with promotion back to the Premier League being our ultimate aim.

Statistics website Whoscored gave their star man rating to Rodriguez as he got himself on the scoresheet and then laid on the assist.

Completing the top five best performers on the day in their eyes were Craig Dawson (8.43), Mason Holgate (8.20), Sam Johnstone (7.74) and Field (7.50).

Special mentions for Rekeem Harper, Kieran Gibbs and Dwight Gayle who all received seven-plus scores of their own.
