Baggies Match Zone

1 Shot, 2 Key Passes & An Impressive Second Half Takes West Brom Player To MotM

|

With some sterling form and results under manager Slaven Bilic so far this season, West Bromwich Albion seriously stuttered in Tuesday evening’s Championship clash at The Hawthorns against Barnsley.

The visitors had a two goal advantage inside of the opening 25 minutes of the game, but the Baggies dug in and with a credited own goal starting to get us back on track, Matheus Pereira saved a point with nine minutes remaining to see us end the night, still in top spot.

Statistics website Whoscored only had two players with seven plus scorelines and they gave halftime substitute Conor Townsend Man of the Match with a rating of 7.37.

Completing the top five best performers on the night were Pereira (7.35), Jake Livermore (6.80), Kyle Bartley (6.77) and Darnell Furlong (6.70).

A bad night, but the response gives positives in terms of team spirit and desire.

Bilic will certainly be looking for better when we welcome Charlton Athletic at the weekend.
