Baggies Match Zone

1 Key Pass, Joint Most Touches & 2 Tackles Takes West Brom Player To MotM

|

Jimmy Shan has hit his first expected wobble at West Bromwich Albion despite some thinking he can work wonders unlike former head coach Darren Moore with the group at our disposal, and after going down pretty comprehensively to Millwall last weekend, the players picked up where they left off against Bristol City yesterday night.

Making the trip to Ashton Gate, the Baggies completely capitulated inside of the opening 19 minutes and found ourselves 3-0 down going into the halftime break. There was a significant improvement in the second period as Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez made it 3-2 to give us hope of completing a comeback – and we almost pulled it off – but the cynical will say City had dropped into first gear and lost their grip on the game, rather than us gaining a grip.

Statistics website Whoscored still gave them the best side of the player ratings despite our second half.

Craig Dawson took Man of the Match with a score of 7.50 and he was followed by Gayle (7.49), Stefan Johansen (7.37), Rodriguez (7.35) and Tosin Adarabioyo (6.93).

Now we see how costly back to back defeats are again given the Play-Off spots weren’t good enough for some.
